If we only watch the last century how many discoveries have been given to us, in fact it is called “Short Century”. There are a lot of things that have chenged the world.
For eg. in the medical field the most important inventions are: antibiotics, penicellin, vaccinations and aspirin.
Other important inventions are: development of motors; the discoveries about the astronomy with the Geometric Vision Helium Of The World” (Copernico: the Earth turns arround the sun); the electricity: now I think is impossible to live without eletricity, all things that we use needs electricity; the great invention of comunication like radio, televition, thelephone, computer and internet.
For me the most important discoveries is the Paper.
Paper has given us books and education. Without the peper we could not know history. All inventions and ideas and philosophy have been written on paper. All art starts off as sketch. We use paper to light fire, to print photographas, to records births and death and tell us who we are and where we came from.
There are other inventions but bad like bombs, nuclear weapons/energy, guillotine, war, pollution, chemical weapon....
For me the worse invention is “weapons”
They carry only negative consequences like death and distruction. First of all the Atomic bomb. All people know the tragics facts of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. It has been the first use of atomic bomb. But olso after those tragic consequences countries have continued to used these arms as experiments but they have provoked the annihilation of great parts of local popolation and still many people will die.
All this for what? Only for simple and useless expemiments.
Many inventions have been created to make life easier for us or just for fun. But many others have been created for destruction.
