ACROSTIC POETRY
An acrostic poem is a way to show what you know about a particular character or word. You might not think of it as poetry because it does not rhyme, but poetry does not always have to rhyme.
Before you begin, make a list of all the things you know about the character or item (use adjectives / verbs).
Choose a character’s name or word. Use each letter in the name as the beginning of a word or line that tells something about that person, character or word. Below are two examples using the words LOVE and EGGS.
Love is what everyone wants
One person wants another
Venice is where I met my first love
Everyone falls in love at one point
Elegantly shaped
Good to eat
Great fun to find at Easter
Smooth shelled
Your assignment is to brainstorm, write, and revise an acrostic poem. You may choose a person, place or thing. Remember to use adjectives, verbs and synonyms where possible. Be creative and have fun!About ESH Blog

Creating an account - Create an account
- Get your password from the email sent to you.
- Login
- Click edit to change your password and upload a profile picture.
- When chagning your password in "edit" also make sure to enter your email address and check (√) the "Personal Contact Form" to enable it. This allows others to contact you by email through your personal contact form but YOUR EMAIL IS NOT SHOWN TO ANYONE.
- To make sure everything is working click "logout" and then login again - with your new password.
Adding Content to your blog - To create your first blog either click "my blog" or "create content"
- You cann add images, attachements and special characters to your blog
- Your first blog should be about who you are - introduction
Adding Images to your Gallery: - To add images to your gallery click on "my gallery" and using the same login as for you blog login.
- Click "my album or select your album from dropdown index.
- Add, delete albums and pictures in your gallery. You can also add pictures by linking to pictures in other peoples gallery.
Adding images to your blog, forum and books - Just click on the camera icon at the bottom of the text entry/edit box. You have the choice to upload or use an existing picture in one of the albums. Use the CAMERA icon for this. The TREE icon is for inserting pictures that are on other web site (not in albums or on your comuter).
- IMPORTANT: the pictures you have in your gallery cannot be accsses by your blog. Gallery pictures are completely sepearate and cannot be accessed directly when editing your blog, book or forrum. You can only palce a link to them. Pictures you place in your blog are public.
Your buddies - addingYou can add your friends to you favorite list (buddy list).
- Just click on "my buddy list" and below it click on "add a buddy". Choose a buddy and when their prfile open up go down the page and click on "add to my buddy list".
Chatting live with friendsTo help you keep in touch with friends ESH blog has a chatbox. At the bottom of the right menu panel you will see the "Chatbox" .
If anyone is in the box you will see their name listed. To start chatting with them click on "join the chatbox". If the chatbox is empty you can alway joing and see who joins you in the box for a chat.
Earn Points for blogging and buy stuffEverytime you blog you earn points. You can use these points to buy stuff at the ESH cafe. The point schedule will be posted here soon. Your points are listed at the bottom of the page under "User points".
LogoutIt's very important that you logout when you are finished. There are two ways to logout
- Click on "logout" - this is the best and easiest way.
- Close ALL browser windows. All.

AIDS 2006
The HIV/Aids epidemic has spread with an uncontrollable speed. It was virtually unknown 20 years ago, but HIV/ AIDS has infected millions of people worldwide.
HIV/AIDS is not just a health problem. It has far more paralyzing consequences to all sectors of life. It can create orphans, decimate the workforce and family, exacerbate poverty and inequality, and put tremendous and dire stress on health and social services.
The world's largest AIDS conference was held in Toronto last week. Delegates, top AIDS researchers, advocates, doctors, nurses, politicians and people like you were in attendance. Actually one of our own students from ESH was in attendance. He informed my class of this destructive epidemic that won't go away. I leave you with a few questions to think about as we take notice of this unforgiving disease. Can AIDS be brought under control? and What are the effective interventions to prevent HIV/AIDS?

Introduce myself
I'm Rushiya Ozawa.
My hometown is Tokyo, in Japan.
I teach children play with picture books in a kindergarden.
Those picture books are drawn by me.
I love kids & pictures, flowers, breezes, the sky, salads, tea and maple syrup!! :)
I've never been to out of Asia, and never traveled by myself,
so I had a few anxiety.
But my host family is very gentle, and vendors in a city are also kind.
Now too strict people I met in Canada are only immigration officers at the air port.
It is important to being safe that they inspect people, but I was so scared about that...
Put aside, I am so surprised that Toronto is very big city.
So big city, so big trees, and soooooooo big sky!!!
In Japan we cannot see the sky like that expect Hokkaido, the most north of Japan.
It's a little cold, but I love this city.
